The Absorption of Self

"People have forgotten how to tell a story. Stories don't have a middle or an end any more. They usually have a beginning that never stops beginning."

- Steven Spielberg

You learn a thing of two after you've written 11 novels. The most important lesson is to have fun. All the other processes - editing, re-writing, re-re-writing come later.

Over the years, I have developed an 'inner voice' more commonly known as a muse. I call it Ancient. It can, I suppose, be likened to Carl Jung's collective unconscious. When I write, I have a very basic idea and I write a novel out of it: no plan, no direction, just a paragraph or two of an idea. My characters are my directors of destiny, and as their God, I influence their world by throwing in 'what-if' scenarios.

I have read of other writers who report a similar thing. It's important to note that I don't write the novel. It writes itself. Further, Steven King once said, "My basic belief about making stories is that they make themselves."

I have over a dozen novels that I want to finalise for publication in the horror, speculative, and romance genre. More details will be posted here when available!
